Some families trust nothing more than real wood. This varmala keepsake is built around a box frame in real teak (sagwan), with the petals from your wedding garland inside and your names on top. You can see similar pieces in our varmala preservation collection.
Why a teak wood varmala nameplate
Teak is the timber of heirloom furniture in many Indian homes, prized for its grain and warm brown tone. Here it forms a deep box frame, so your varmala petals have room inside instead of being pressed flat. The names are stuck on top of the frame, where they read clearly against the petals behind. Petals from both garlands, the bride's and the groom's, are combined in this one piece, just as you exchanged them on stage.
Placing your varmala nameplate at home
The warm wood suits traditional homes and sits well beside a pooja room door, on a bedroom wall or in a living room corner with other family pieces. Brown and beige carry a feeling of warmth. It is an indoor piece, kept away from rain and direct sun, and hangs on hooks at the back.
A gift from parents to the couple
Parents often have it made from the varmala after the wedding and present it to the couple, and it is also chosen for a first anniversary. It suits families who prefer the look of real wood and want the keepsake to match their furniture.

Teak wood varmala nameplate: questions
Do the colours change over time?
Only slightly, and only during drying. After the dried flowers are poured in resin, their colour stays the same.
My flowers are already dry, or we are not in Jaipur. What now?
Dry flowers are exactly what we need, since only dried flowers can be preserved; fresh ones are dried first, and we explain how once your order is confirmed. In Jaipur we pick them up right after the wedding. From another city or a destination wedding, take the flowers home with you, let them dry and courier them to us. Short on time before travelling abroad? Send them fresh by bus parcel; it reaches us within 1–2 days from anywhere.
Is the frame real teak wood?
Yes, the box frame is real teak (sagwan) wood, not a printed or laminated finish.
Which languages and fonts can our names be in?
Any language. You choose from 4–5 of our fonts.
Will it look like the photo?
The frame and style will match, but your petals are your own, so colours vary. You approve the design before we begin.
